Jubilee 5.1: The Overflow
Saturday May 16th
6pm-8pm (ish)
2265 Lawrence Street in the back
Hi beautiful friends 💜
Well… plot twist.
For my 5.1 birthday, I have officially decided to cancel… myself. 😆
Okay, not fully. Just the giant backyard gathering portion.
The original vision actually came from a really beautiful place. Birthdays mean a lot to me because my story began with being abandoned, orphaned, fostered, and then adopted. Because of that, I carry a deep love for celebrating life, connection, belonging, and reminding people they matter.
After seeing so much heaviness and hardship around our city lately, my heart wanted to gather people together and let joy, kindness, music, peace, and love overflow onto our little block and out into the neighborhood.
I imagined burgers on the grill, music floating through the alleyways, spontaneous dance parties, sidewalk chalk, rooftop chats, prayer, bubbles, laughter, and simple connection.
But after much prayer and reflection, I realized something important:
I don’t think my heart needs another event right now.
I think it needs rest.
Truthfully, after a season full of emceeing, creating, producing, showing up publicly, and living in constant output mode… I feel a deep stirring toward quiet, peace, and simple connection.
And maybe… that’s part of Jubilee too.
Honestly, I think some of us need permission to cancel things guilt-free sometimes.
Not because we don’t care.
Not because people don’t matter.
Not because the idea wasn’t beautiful.
But because rest matters too.
Peace matters too.
Listening to your spirit matters too.
Apparently Jubilee 5.1 is less:
🎉 “EVERYBODY COME OVER!!!”
and more:
🌿 “Brandi, please sit down and drink water.”
And honestly? I’m listening. 😆💜
So instead of one big gathering, I want to invite something different:
bringing peace, joy, kindness, prayer, and presence right where we already are.
A walk around the neighborhood.
A rooftop conversation.
A prayer walk.
A porch hang.
Playing music together.
Checking in on someone.
Smiling at neighbors.
A coffee with purpose.
Letting joy overflow in quieter, more meaningful ways.
So if you ever want to go on a walk-and-talk, pray-and-walk, sit on a porch, dream together, or simply connect heart-to-heart… please reach out. ✨
Turns out Jubilee 5.1 might not be a big event after all.
Maybe it’s quietness. Rest. Presence. Simplicity.
And maybe the overflow can happen on an ordinary Tuesday instead.
Yours till the cows come home,
The Officially Self-Cancelled Birthday Girl 💜

HERE’S THE CANCELLED DETAILS.. LOL!
Hi beautiful friends!
I’m turning 51… and this year, I want to celebrate a little differently.
Birthdays mean a lot to me. My story began with being abandoned, orphaned, fostered, and then adopted—and because of that, I hold a deep love for celebrating life. Every life. Every story.
So this year, I don’t just want to celebrate mine… I want to share it 💜
After seeing so much heaviness and hardship on the streets, my heart keeps saying: what if we took this moment of celebration… and let it overflow?
So that’s what we’re going to do 💜
We’ll kick things off with food and fun… and then head out for a little joy adventure—just open hearts, genuine connection, and whatever unfolds along the way 💜✨
🍔 Burgers / veggie burgers on us! Bring a side or drink to share
🎶 Bring instruments, jump ropes, bubbles, games—anything joy-inducing!
Think: spontaneous dance parties, sidewalk chalk messages, music in the air, and simple, beautiful moments with people we meet along the way.
No pressure. No expectations. Just open hearts and joyful energy.
If this sounds like your kind of celebration… I would LOVE to have you there 💜
Let’s celebrate life by sharing it!
P.S. Want to bring a little extra love? Clothing or food donations are welcome, and I’ll pass them along to local social services 💜
