God Wired Me to Create
I've loved our time in Alaska.
We've celebrated Patrick's dad's life, spent time with family, explored Seldovia, and soaked in some of the most beautiful scenery God ever created. It's been a gift.
But this trip also came right on the heels of a whirlwind season.
The day after my birthday, Patrick and I learned we had just one month to leave the loft we've called home for years. Suddenly we were house hunting, packing, moving, coordinating work, and preparing to leave town for a week and a half right in the middle of it all.
My heart has been stirring.
Tonight, with a little unexpected alone time in the cabin, I finally realized why.
My heart has been longing to create.
Not because I need another project.
Not because I need to be productive.
Because God wired me to create.
Whether it's zhuzhing a room, putting together an outfit, writing a blog post, making music, planning an event, designing a t-shirt, or simply telling a story, something comes alive in me when I create.
As I stood by the river tonight, I realized that one of the ways God made me is to see possibility.
Some people see firewood.
I see string lights.
Some people see a room.
I see stories told in the room.
Some people see a story ending.
I see a story waiting to be told.
And when I get to use that creativity to point people toward God's goodness, mercy, beauty, and faithfulness, that's when I feel most alive!
So tonight, after a walk by the river, a lot of laughing by myself, and a little reflection, I was reminded of something simple:
God wired me to create.
And I'm incredibly grateful He did.
Out of these reflections, laughs, and realizations was born this t-shirt.
Now I just need to get home and put Patrick's birthday gift to good use. He got me my very own heat press, and I have a feeling it's about to get a workout! ❤️👕✨
